Day 108 – This drawing was found among my grandfather’s souvenirs and papers from WWII. He probably picked it up when he was in Hawaii or Japan.

Day 107 – I have this beautiful, delicate, purple carnival glass perfume holder that never gets enough use. So I decided to have a little fun in Lightroom with it.

Day 104 – Andy and I went to lunch today. Some of you familiar with Northern Illinois may recognize this sculpture. (Hint – cheese fries)

Day 87 – Everyone shows you the famous Bean sculpture in Chicago from the front. Here’s what you see when you walk underneath it. What a trip!

Day 86 – I have this wonderful paperweight that is fashioned from an old design used on sailing vessels to bring light to lower decks. Just a little adjusting in Lightroom for fun.

2012 Snow Sculpting Competition

2012 Snow Sculpting Competition

Day 74 – I went to check out the snow sculpting competition today. The judges will see the final works tomorrow so everyone was busy trying to finish up. The place was a buzz with the sounds of chisels and shovels, kids laughing, music playing. It was cold and crisp today and the wood burning in barrels to keep the folks warm was a lovely smell. I’ll try to get back there tomorrow. I always like to see who won.

Day 43 – Continuing with my graffiti theme, here is a picture of the art project my son and I did this summer. We spray painted a canvas with his gamertag name. Isn’t it cool? Ya, datzcoo.

Day 42 – A few years ago I took a group of students to our town’s free graffiti wall for a yearbook project. I went by there today to check it out. The wall continues to display expressions of all sorts. That’s why art is so important. We all so plugged in but what we really need is an outlet.
