Love to Eat

Love to Eat

Day 270 – I love to eat. My whole family loves to eat. And we always enjoy the fresh, deep fried Wisconsin cheese at the County Fair. So, in honor of Julia Child’s 100th birthday, I am posting this photo. I wouldn’t recommend eating fried cheese every day. But once a year…. mmmmmm. Yum!

Day 267 – Walking through the stables I noticed a sign that read – “A horse doesn’t care how much you know, until he knows how much you care.  -Pat Parelli”.  And if you can make friends with a horse, gain his trust so he yields to you – well, that is a mighty wonderful thing, indeed.

Day 266 – We met this adorable white goat with clipped ears at the Boone County Fair today.

Thrill Rides

Thrill Rides

Day 260 – We spent the day at Great America. Watching my guys ride those roller coasters made me think about all the thrilling rides life has for us. Some times you get to strap in and fly through the air. Sometimes a parachute opens up and you have a soft landing. Other times, life is just a crazy series of ups and downs and your only safety gear is a light heart and a good sense of humor.

Day 258 – I was going through some old photos today and I came across this one. We were at the Lincoln Park Zoo and the seagulls were out near the food court looking for lunch. They are quite used to people so it’s possible to get fairly close. But don’t expect them to pose if you don’t have a tasty morsel for them.

Day 243 – Flowers are great models. They hold still (if the wind is right) and let you take as many pictures as you like.

Day 242 – Looks like Mr. Turtle has come to check on his neighbor who is busy keeping her eggs safe and warm.
